The WA State Football (Soccer) U/13 Girls team, featuring Perth Modern School students Abbey Green and Nicole Tjahyadi, have placed second in the Girls National Football Championships held in Coffs Harbour. The ACT finished top of the round-robin tournament.

Abbey, 12, said it was thrilling to represent WA in football and she was especially elated to have kicked four goals throughout the tournament.

Nicole, 13, said being selected for the team involved a lot of training but it was fun as well, especially bonding with the other girls and developing a team spirit.

Both Abbey and Nicole are keen to develop their football skills further and hope to make the State team again next year.
