Work Experience
Work experience is: voluntary, available for years 10 – 12 and will vary in length.

Process for obtaining Work Experience:

  1. See Careers Advisor
  2. Complete Careers Voyage program – available throughout the school.
  3. Discuss results with Parents and Careers Advisor.
  4. Choose a career on your selected list.
  5. Approach employers in this career area.
  6. When placement is found, bring information to Careers Office and collect required legal documentation. Forms for employer will be sent and signed documentation must be returned prior to placement (Parental & employer).
  7. On completion return employers evaluation and times worked for documentation to be completed.

Things to remember:

  1. All year 10 students have the opportunity to spend 1 week at Work Experience toward the end of term 2.
  2. Times not available are: when school calendar deems the time inappropriate, week prior or during examinations and major assessments.
  3. If you have the opportunity to complete WE during school time you must ensure that all class work is completed.
  4. Legally someone needs to visit you during your placement so holiday periods are not ideal but can be negotiated.
