Year 12 students Hayden Sefton and Lachlan McDonald have come first in the Model United Nations Evatt State final. They are the first Perth Modern team to win the competition in its 26 year history. Lachlan was awarded best negotiator. They will now go to Brisbane for the national final which draws together 60 students from across Australia and New Zealand, with delegates taking on the roles of UN Security Council representatives to debate issues of securing peace and proposing creative, nuanced solutions. Congratulations Lachlan and Hayden – all the best for the nationals!
