JOSEPH PARSONS MEMORIAL LIBRARY


The Library at Perth Modern School is a welcoming and modern user-centred environment, enriching and supporting the learning and teaching programs of the school.

It is instrumental in developing information literate students and supporting an information literate community. The Library offers a wide range of relevant resources and technologies and provides the help and support students need to become effective and critical users of ideas and information.

The Library caters for all students providing areas for both quiet study and reading and also larger spaces for collaborative activities. It offers a flexible and creative venue that provides stimulus for studying, thinking and doing, creating and learning.

The Library provides curriculum based resources, literature and recreational materials in a variety of formats, which support the changing needs of the Perth Modern School community. Students and staff have access to an extensive fiction collection, non-fiction and reference materials in both print and electronic formats.

The Library Resource Centre strives to:

Empower students to be independent learners throughout their lives, ensuring that they are effective users of ideas and information.

  2. Provide a wide range of relevant resources, services and technologies to satisfy the varied curriculum and recreational needs of its users.
  3. Promote a reading culture and provide opportunities for users to engage in literature enrichment activities.
  4. Create a welcoming, user-centred environment with a dynamic learning culture, staffed by skilled, committed and caring professionals.
