The 2024 honour roll: WA students with the highest ATARs revealed
For 18 WA students, opening their results held an additional surprise β a perfect score of 99.95. Hereβs how they found out.
π YEAR 8 COMMUNITY SERVICE KINDNESS PROJECT π As part of our Advocacy Program in Term 4, Year 8 students chose kindness projects to give back to our community. From making sandwiches for Passages Youth Homeless to creating positive affirmation bookmarks for the library, Year 6 Welcome Folders, Christmas decorations for a local aged care home, team building for Year 7βs, helping in the Sustainability Garden, reading with Year 1 students at West Leederville Primary School, or participating in the St Doctor Shoebox Christmas Appeal, our students engaged in their projects while having fun with friends. A special shoutout to Vanille Zhang, who spent countless hours crocheting over 130 snowflake decorations for the residents at Brightwater Onslow Gardens Aged Care Home and personally delivered them in time for Christmas. π Downing wins the House Drama Trophy! π We are thrilled to announce that Downing House has won the House Drama Trophy at Perth Modern School! This is the first time Downing has been successful in winning this highly coveted trophyπβ¨ A huge congratulations to all the talented students who participated and showcased their incredible acting skills, creativity, and teamwork. Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. A special congratulations to Millie Cullunder in Year 11 who directed Downing to victoryππ All four performances were highly entertaining and showcased the huge number of students who are talented in the creative arts. Year 11 Drama students were the directors and many, many hours went into producing four very polished performances. Students were also involved in the backstage technician roles.
