HIRE A FACILITY


Whether you are planning a concert, seminar, community event, a wedding, workshop, meeting or sporting event; Perth Modern School has several venues suitable for a range of functions. All venues are air-conditioned and include AV equipment. Venues are available for hire outside of school hours only. If you would like to make a pencil booking for your event please complete and return the Venue Booking Enquiry Form.

Please note pencil bookings are subject to change. Your booking will not be considered confirmed until the relevant booking forms and the agreement is signed and submitted, and you have received written confirmation of the booking from the Facilities Hire Coordinator.


If you decide to make a pencil booking the next step would be for Facilities Hire Coordinator’ to provide you with:

1. A detailed estimate of costs for the hire based upon the current booking information. In order to create the estimate, we will need to obtain from you the relevant details (timings, requirements etc.) for the estimate. In some cases we may require submission of a proposed production schedule prior to completion of the estimate.

2. The relevant booking forms.

In the meantime please find below the standard 2019-2020 costs (incl. GST) for the hire of the VENUE that may apply to your booking depending on your requirements:


Auditorium – Beasley Building


Standard capacity is 300 elevated seats.
  • Heritage architecture with large jarrah stage
  • AV: screen, projector and sound
  • Excellent acoustics
  • Plush seating for 300
  • Access to Green room
  • Free parking

Auditorium: AV System, sound and lighting technician*, toilet facilities, cleaning and parking  $920 per event / max 7 hours.
Concert facilities: Use of auditorium, AV system, an area for supper, sound and lighting *technician, toilet facilities, cleaning and parking $1045 per event / max 7 hours.
Use of piano: $300 (including compulsory tune).
Rehearsal: Short (2 hrs max) rehearsal without sound or lighting, cleaning not required $120. Sound and lighting technician - additional hour is $50 per hour.

*Sound and lighting technician is included for max 3 hours in the venue hire when booking the Auditorium or concert facilities. Free: usage of max 5 microphones including stands, cleaning and parking. (Other hire costs as applicable)

New Sports Centre – Tyler McCusker Sports Centre


$135 per hour

Can seat up to 560 people with retractable seating for 160 and the use of an additional 400 individual chairs negotiable:

  • AV: Complete audio-visual set up with two large drop down screens.
  • Nine badminton courts, three volleyball courts, one basketball court and one netball court.
  • Free parking

Events: Includes AV system, seating, sound and light technician (max 3 hour) cleaning and parking $1000 (max 7 hours).
  • Stage is available for hire - $500 (length 10m x width 3m. x height .9m) – this includes set up and dismantle prior and after the event.

$65 per sports hall (max 4 hours)

  • 1 sports hall (boys), includes changing room and toilets.
  • 1 sports hall (girls), includes changing room and toilets

Parsons Building Lecture Theatre


$400 (max 4 hours)

Important conditions to note include:

  • Large, airy space with seating and tables for up to 120
  • AV: screen, projector and sound
  • Access to refectory sitting area and hot water (urn)
  • Free parking

  • Embleton Building – Music Centre


    $275 (max 4 hours)

  • Large open space suitable for up to 60 people
  • Two breakout rooms
  • Excellent Acoustic
  • Tea and coffee facilities (urn)
  • Individual music studio music rooms with piano also available ($65 max 4 hours)
  • Free parking



  • Andrews Building


    $65 per classroom (max 4 hours)

  • Large central area with standing space for 300 plus
  • 15 x class rooms with smart boards
  • One meeting room with whiteboard suitable for up to 12 people
  • Access to IT room with multiple computers
  • Lift to second floor
  • Access to kitchen facilities / staff room negotiable
  • Free parking

  • Stokes Building


    $65 per classroom (max 4 hours)

  • Large hall area with movable seating and tables for up to 60 people
  • 10 breakout class rooms featuring smart boards
  • AV: Drop down screen and projector
  • Outside gazebo
  • Free parking

  • Includes 30 desk and tables
  • AV equipment: smart board
  • Free parking

  • Expression of Interest


    Important conditions to note include:
    • Hirers must carry public liability insurance for a minimum amount of $20million. Perth Modern School will require a copy of the policy certificate of currency prior to confirming the booking.
    • Full payment of the estimated cost will be due 2 weeks prior to the booking date.
    • Perth Modern School will employ, on behalf of and at the expense of hirers, such staff believed necessary for the purpose of a hiring.
