On 20 September, Diya in Year 10 represented us at the State Finals of the Rotary Four-Way Test Public Speaking Competition, held at the Rotary Club in Geraldton—and won the Grand Final trophy! 🏆

🎉 Robotics Success at RoboCup Junior WA! 🤖 This past weekend, our talented Year 7 Robotics Club students put their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork to the test at the RoboCup Junior WA State Event, held at Edith Cowan University. 💥 Six teams proudly represented our school in this exciting and competitive event. After a strong showing in Saturday’s prelims, four teams advanced to Sunday’s finals — showing incredible resilience, innovation, and determination! 🥉 Leading the charge were the Kungfu Pandas, who wowed the judges and secured 3rd place in the Open Line Rescue category! An amazing achievement in a tough field, and a testament to their hard work and passion for robotics. 👏 A huge thank you to Mr Chillapa and Mr Kocaj for their ongoing support and guidance. Their dedication has helped build a thriving robotics culture at Perth Mod, inspiring students to dream big and push boundaries.

Our talented Year 11 Drama students are proud to bring Bertolt Brecht’s bold and thought-provoking play to life — a powerful story of justice, sacrifice, and love.

Set during a time of revolution, the play follows Grusha, a servant who risks everything to protect an abandoned child. Years later, a dramatic courtroom battle unfolds to decide who truly deserves custody — the birth mother or the woman who raised him. A chalk circle is drawn. The test begins.

This energetic and inventive production features Brecht’s signature theatrical style, including direct audience address, live music, and storytelling that will make you think and feel.

🥪 Making a Difference, One Sandwich at a Time! 🥪 This term, a dedicated group of Perth Modern students from all year levels have been coming together on Wednesday afternoons for a special cause — making sandwiches for those in need. Organised by Rotary Interact, each session sees around 20 students preparing sandwiches that are then delivered to The Beacon, the Salvos’ homeless shelter in Northbridge. For those unable to attend, many have still contributed by donating supplies — a true team effort!
