π Chelsea caps off stellar year in Table Tennis winning the 2024 Junior Female Player in WA award! π
Chelsea Wu, a Year 9 student, has been awarded the 2024 Junior Female Player of the Year at this year's annual Table Tennis WA awards ceremony! π
This accolade crowns an incredible year for Chelsea in the National Development squad, where she has secured numerous Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in major Table Tennis Australia National tournaments across Singles, Doubles, and state Teams events, often competing above her age group.
Chelsea's achievements don't stop there! She clinched four Golds at this year's West Coast Open and went on to win four 2024 WA state Open titles, being crowned the U15 and U19 Girls Singles, Open Mixed Doubles, and Junior Mixed Doubles champion. π₯π₯π₯

π Congratulations to our Year 9 Young Historians! π We are thrilled to announce that the following students have been awarded Young Historian Gold (Western Australian winners) for their outstanding entries in the National History Challenge 2024. The theme for this year's competition was "Crisis and Response," and our students showed incredible initiative and perseverance in selecting their topics and conducting research during Terms 2 and 3. π Diya Sanjay and Sara Rajwani π Researched Australiaβs connection with Japan and Malay, submitting a documentary in the Australiaβs Engagement with Asia category. π Rhea Kewalram, Metta Hong Chi Chua, and Sadhika Santhosh π Researched massacres in 19th century Western Australia, submitting a website in the First Nations Australia category. This past Sunday, an impressive group of 38 students from Year 7 to Year 9 showcased their resilience, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and innovation at the First Lego League (FLL) Salter Point Regional Tournament.
We are thrilled to announce that the Modonauts (Bhuvika Garg and Ivy Delauney-Meyer) won the Best Innovation Project Award, and the Swagistan team (Venkat Lanka, Kang Wei Pean, Jonathan Hart, Xander Hart, Kevin Li and Zachary Ng) received the Engineering Excellence Award.
Both teams have secured their spots in the nationals, set to take place on December 7 at Curtin University. π

π¨ Last Week's Visual Arts Exhibition π¨ Last week, our school community had the pleasure of enjoying the Visual Arts exhibition, officially opened on Wednesday night. This exciting event on the school calendar attracted many enthusiastic art lovers, who came to admire the creative talents of our art students. The exhibition showcased a selection of artworks from students in Years 7-12, many of whom had been working on their creations throughout the year. Additionally, we featured a display of work from our incoming Year 6 students, providing a wonderful introduction to the creative area of Visual Arts at our school.
