Perth Modern School has achieved the number one academic ranking for the WACE in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025 *As of 2022, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority stopped publishing school academic rankings and median ATARs.
However The West Australian newspaper analyses the publicly released data and determines the top ranking school based on the number of subjects in which students receive awards. The newspaper’s determination was that Perth Modern School was the top ranking school in WA in 2022 and 2023.
